Liam Cooper has singled out Leeds United team-mate Jack Harrison for praise following his goal against Sheffield United today.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side edged out their Yorkshire rivals 2-1 at Elland Road and it was a goal from Harrison which led to the Whites opening the scoring after only 12 minutes.
This was the 24-year-old’s seventh Premier League goal of the season and first since a victory over Crystal Palace two months ago.
Harrison had a difficult patch in between that period, culminating in just the one assist in seven Premier League games.
In fact, the Manchester City loanee even hired a sports psychologist in an effort to recapture the sort of form he had showed earlier in the campaign.
And Leeds captain Cooper has admitted that he’s delighted for his team-mate, claiming that he’s the hardest working man at Thorp Arch and thoroughly deserving of his goal today.
He said via United’s official Twitter page: “He’s been different class, Jack. He went through a bit of a rough patch but he’s got his head down and worked hard. Nobody works harder than him at the training ground and I’m delighted for him. He deserved that.”
This is quite an endorsement from Cooper.
After all, every single Leeds player works hard in training because, well, that’s what Bielsa demands of his troops.
So to be the hardest working player in the squad says a lot about Harrison.
