Jadon Sancho has shone in the Bundesliga since joining Dortmund from Manchester City – but could he return to the Premier League with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds?

Dietmar Hamann claims to have heard that Liverpool have ‘great interest’ in Jadon Sancho and has tipped Jurgen Klopp to raid his former employers Borussia Dortmund for the England international next year, speaking on Sky (21 October, 10pm).

Still only 19, Sancho is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most exciting young attackers of his generation.

The London-born winger took the shock decision to leave Manchester City for the Bundesliga in the summer of 2017 and his risk has reaped major rewards with Sancho now one of the first names on the team-sheet for Dortmund, plus a key part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The teenager winger has scored four goals and assisted seven more in a stunning start to 2019/20 with The Mail claiming that Sancho will cost in excess of £100 million if, or when, he returns to the Premier League with Manchester City keen to bring their one-that-got-away back to the Etihad Stadium.

But Hamann appears to have insider information suggesting that Pep Guardiola could face a battle with his old adversary Klopp when the time comes.

“What I hear is that Liverpool have great interest. I would imagine that next summer they could become one of the biggest interested parties,” said the 2005 Champions League winner.

A potential deal for Sancho would likely require Liverpool to shatter their transfer record, which currently stands at £75 million, though questions will be asked about whether the youngster is actually capable of forcing Mo Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino out of Klopp’s starting XI.
