Celtic are going strong in Scotland and could end up winning the treble this season. The Bhoys have already clinched the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup, and have progressed to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
Brendan Rodgers’s side also featured in the group stage of the Champions League this campaign, and they are having a very successful season.
But how will Celtic fare in the Premier League? Of course, the Glasgow giants are not going to play in the English top flight anytime soon – probably never – but it is always a good discussion of topic..
Former Newcastle United and Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes that the Bhoys would be fight for survival if they were playing in the Premier League.
“I wouldn’t make Celtic any more than even money to be relegated,” Hamann told The Daily Record.
“The likes of Southampton and Stoke City have so much strength in depth these days that I don’t see them getting into the top ten. And that’s despite their excellent efforts against Manchester City and Barcelona this season.”
Celtic have some very good footballers, such as Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair, and they will be confident of competing in the Premier League.
Maybe the current squad would not be able to break into the top 10 of the Premier League, but surely they are better than the likes of Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hull City…
