Dietmar Hamann points out one major area where Manchester United need to invest.
Former Germany international and now turned pundit, Dietmar Hamann feels that Manchester United are a bit one dimensional and lack creativity upfront.
The former Liverpool midfielder says that throughout the club’s history, United have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch.
However, post Sir Alex Ferguson tenure, United have not been able to exert their dominance in the Premier League.
Hamann is concerned with United’s creativity, although he believes that the arrival of Romelu Lukaku will give Jose Mourinho more pace in the attack.

The German has cited the example of United’s Juan Mata, saying the Spaniard is a terrific player, but the Red Devils do not have enough players who can create ‘something from nothing’ like Liverpool or Manchester City.
He adds that Liverpool have the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino as their attacking options, whereas United have only Henrikh Mkhitaryan who is capable of unlocking the defence.
“Going forward they are bit one dimensional now and they lack creativity. This is not a United team you would pay to see. If you go back in history teams they’ve had in the past you’d happily pay money to watch,” said Hamann, as quoted by The Mirror.
“At the moment that’s not the case, though with Lukaku arriving it gives Mourinho the chance to put more pace in attack.
“The creative side still concerns me. Juan Mata sparkles now and again and is a terrific player but United don’t have a player to create something from nothing like City or Liverpool.
“If you look at Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana and Mane, Liverpool have plenty of options. But apart from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, United don’t have someone to unlock the door.”
Last season, United drew too many games, especially at home, where they failed to unlock the opposition defence. They were too predictable at times, and could not come up with alternative plans going forward.
