Dietmar Hamann and Tam McManus react on Twitter to Rangers’ shock Europa League exit.
Former Germany international and popular football pundit, Dietmar Hamann, has criticized Pedro Caixinha, following Rangers’ elimination from the Europa League.
The Gers headed into the Europa League qualifying match leading 1-0 against Progres Niederkorn after Kenny Miller’s goal at Ibrox, but they lost 2-0 in the second leg, to bow out 2-1 on aggregate.
Hamann has particularly pointed out Caixinha’s banning of ‘green’ Celtic boots, by saying the gaffer probably has banned boots altogether.
Rangers have undergone a massive rebuilding process this summer, and expectations were high following the acquisition of as many as eight new signings.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha before the match
Tam McManus, the former Hibs player, has said that the result will go down as the most embarrassing result in the Scottish football history. He tweeted:
The cup competition was supposed to be Rangers’ highlight of the season, but their campaign is all over before it even kicked off.
Caixinha has plenty to work on, and he should concentrate on domestic competition from here on.
