Uruguay hero Diego Forlan lit up the World Cup in 2010, winning the Golden Ball award for the best player at the tournament.
It was confirmation of the talent Manchester United believed they were buying from Independiente in 2002, but never saw on a consistent basis, with the striker scoring just 17 goals for the club in all competitions before being sold to Villarreal.
Forlan now 37, plays in his homeland with Penarol, and is retired from the international scene. He has given an interview to ESPN in which he has named the best XI of players he has ever played with, and as you can imagine, it is quite an incredible list.
Several Manchester United players feature, as to do his former Villarreal, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid teammates – while Liverpool hero Luis Suarez also features, who he played alongside at international level.
Forlan is remembered well among Manchester United fans for his brace against Liverpool at Anfield.
