Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan has told El National that Liverpool can win the Premier League title this weekend.
The Reds are currently top of the table after 11 games of the season after a strong start to the campaign.
They are the league’s highest goalscorers and look like serious title challengers this season.
They have never won the Premier League, with their last league title coming all the way back in 1990, but Forlan says he sees no reason they cannot win this year after Leicester City’s success last season.
“Liverpool have not won the league since 1990, but after Leicester City won the title last season, I see no reason why another side not used to winning it cannot do the same,” he told El National.
“Liverpool just need to keep going and have lucky with injuries. Having no European football helps, and their players have gelled together well.”
“Klopp has an advantage over [United boss Jose] Mourinho and [Chelsea manager Antonio] Conte as he has been at his club for longer.”

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can go on to win the title this season.
The lack of European football is likely to be a major boost, as it was under Brendan Rodgers several years ago.
They will need to show a dramatic improvement in their defence if they are to come out with their first Premier League success, though.
They have conceded the most goals of all the teams in the top seven this season and that could end up coming back to haunt them by the end of the campaign.
