Everton have been linked with a move for Diego Costa.

Everton reportedly want Diego Costa again.

The Daily Mail claims that the Toffees’ owner Farhad Moshiri has told the club to explore the idea of bringing in the former Chelsea hitman, who is now at Atletico Madrid.

It could be an example of Silly Season, but if it’s true then this could be a game-changer for Everton.

Marco Silva didn’t have a great first season at Goodison as the team finished eighth and a massive 17 points adrift of the top four.

But Champions League qualification will certainly be the goal next season and what an asset Costa could be.

The 30-year-old scored 52 Premier League goals in 89 appearances during a spell with Chelsea – a brilliant return.

Everton have been lacking a Costa-like figure ever since Romelu Lukaku was sold two years ago, but if Silva can get him then it’s a huge piece of the jigsaw with regards to what’s needed for a top-four finish.
