Jose Mourinho may think that Diego Costa isn’t fit, but the Chelsea marksman has been called up by Spain coach Vicente del Bosque.
Chelsea striker Diego Costa is part of Spain’s squad to face Slovakia and Luxembourg and there’s also a place for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
Costa picked up an injury while playing against France in a friendly on September 4 but five days later he scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Swansea City.
However, the Special One did play Costa in the Champions League against Sporting Lisbon and he looks likely to field him against Arsenal, which would make it three games in a week, so he may not be too fragile.
There are places for Costa’s Chelsea teammates Cesc Fabregas and Cesar Azpilicueta, Manchester City man David Silva, Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla and David Gea of Manchester United.
However, it’s bad news for Manchester United’s Juan Mata, who is left out.
Del Bosque’s decision may stir up trouble between Mourinho and the Spain coach but Costa has indicated that he is happy to play.
