Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ryan Mason has admitted that both Lucas Moura and Tanguy Ndombele have had problems with their fitness as of late.

The pair didn’t appear against Sheffield United last week, with neither player getting an opportunity off of the bench, and Mason says that they’ve been struggling with their fitness.

Fortunately, it seems as though these issues have subsided and that they’re going to be fit to face Leeds on Saturday.

“Ben Davies is the only one that has not been training, Tanguy and Lucas didn’t train for the majority of last week, they trained the day before the game but this week we have had a fully fit squad.”

Tottenham will certainly need a fully-fit squad if they’re going to make a real go of getting into the top four between now and the end of the season.

Luckily, Spurs coped just fine without Lucas and Ndombele last week, beating Sheffield United 4-0, and while Leeds will offer a much tougher challenge, it’s hard to imagine Mason changing the starting XI that won so emphatically last week.

However, injuries have been a thorn in Spurs’ side all season long, so Ndombele and Lucas may end up being called upon, and it’s great for Tottenham to have that extra depth option off the bench if needed.

Fingers crossed the pair can remain injury-free for the remainder of the campaign.
