Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that Hector Bellerin had joined Real Betis on a season-long loan.

What’s the story?

Well, a miserable period for Bellerin has come to an end, after he joined his boyhood club for the 2021/22 campaign.

The Spain international has not played a second of football under Mikel Arteta this season, after losing his place in the side.

Arsenal’s £16m capture of Takehiro Tomiyasu signalled a desire to push Bellerin even further down the pecking order, so his exit was necessary.

The 26-year-old made 24 Premier League starts for the Gunners last season, but was in extremely poor form.

At one point, Bellerin also couldn’t stop giving away foul throws.

It’s sad to see him go, as the £110,000-a-week man is part of the furniture at the Emirates Stadium.

However, it’s only a loan for now, so Bellerin’s story with Arsenal might not be over yet.

In recent times, Arsenal’s handling of players has been so clumsy.

For example, the club could’ve earned £20m from Ainsley Maitland-Niles last summer, with a move to Wolves close according to the Guardian.

However, the Gunners kept him, loaned him to West Brom where he was relegated, and his value has now dropped significantly.

In Bellerin’s case, he was the subject of a £25m bid from Paris Saint-Germain in September 2020.

However, as the Guardian reveal, Arteta wanted to keep him.

Now, the north Londoners would be lucky to receive an offer of £10m for the right-back.

Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying after the club announced Bellerin’s move to Real Betis…
