Didi Hamann has wrote on PaddyPower.com that he does not like Tottenham Hotspur this season and claims it would be a “huge achievement” if they finish in the top four.

Tottenham visit North London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Defeat would see Spurs – who are winless from their last six games in all competitions – slip six points behind the Gunners in the Premier League title race.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were Leicester City’s main competitors for the title last season but a poor end to the campaign saw them finish third behind Arsenal, though they still qualified for the Champions League after six years away from the competition.

But Hamann says the Lilywhites were punching above their weight last season and says it would be a massive achievement if they finish in the top-four again; let alone actually win the league.

“I didn’t like Tottenham last year, and I like them even less this year. They have punched way above their weight for 18 months now,” he wrote on PaddyPower.com. “If you look at their team compared to others in the league, they shouldn’t be anywhere near them.

“Finishing in the top four was a real result for Tottenham last season, and it will be a huge achievement if they do it again this year.”

Hamann’s assessment of Tottenham would have been very harsh three or four weeks ago, given that they beat Manchester City, but Pochettino’s boys haven’t won since then.

Harry Kane’s absence looks to have finally taken its toll, but losing to Arsenal would see them suffer a big blow in their efforts to last the distance this time around.
