Former Liverpool star says club should have sold Daniel Sturridge two years ago.
Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has urged the club to sell Daniel Sturridge this January.
Hamann said he would cash in for as little as £8 million, and says that the striker should have been sold two years ago.
Hamann said that Sturridge is more costly than he is worth to Liverpool due to his lack of game time, frequently impacted by injury.
Sturridge has started just five Premier League matches for Liverpool this season.
Hamann also expressed his views on under fire midfielders Jordan Henderson and Emre Can.
Asked whether Henderson was a good fit for the number six role in midfield, Hamann gave a straightforward reply.
Quizzed about Emre Can’s contract situation, Hamann said Liverpool should not beg him to sign, and if he does not accept terms on a new deal, he too should be sold.
Both Emre Can and Jordan Henderson have come in for criticism among fans in recent weeks, and with Naby Keita arriving next summer, the pair are on notice if they do not step up their game.
