Jack Robinson posted an emotional Instagram message about Liverpool parting ways with their home of over 70 years, Melwood.

The Sheffield United player, who came through the ranks at Anfield as a youngster, stated that he is ‘sad to hear Melwood will be closing’.

When Robinson posted his message about Liverpool’s iconic training ground, his Sheffield United teammate Ollie McBurnie issued a cheeky response to the left-back.

He posted in the comments section: ‘Did you play for Liverpool bro?’ with Robinson responding by laughing at his comment.

When Robinson was coming through the ranks at Liverpool, many thought he was going to become a first-team regular at Anfield, but it didn’t work out for the left-back.

The 27-year-old ended up playing for the likes of Blackpool, QPR and Nottingham Forest in the lower leagues, as he now finds himself playing under Chris Wilder at Bramall Lane.

Either way, there have been a number of highly-rated players who have come through those Anfield ranks, with high expectations, and never stepped foot in a top-flight game in England again.

So, Robinson deserves credit for getting back up from the floor and showing that he is worthy of playing alongside the elite.
