Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier, as quoted in Goal.com.

Meslier played well for Leeds in their goalless draw with Arsenal at Elland Road in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper made a very good save in the final minutes of the encounter when he denied Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal boss Arteta believes that it was a big chance for the North London club and has praised Meslier for the save.

Goal.com quotes Arteta as saying: “It was the best chance in the game, but the keeper did very well. On another day we could have won the game, but the reality is they had a lot of threats on our box and we were lucky in certain moments.”

Good performance from Illan Meslier

Meslier conceded eight goals in his past two Premier League games, and one suspects that the Frenchman must have been keen on keeping a clean sheet tonight.

The 20-year-old did just that tonight, as the Whites picked up a point from the encounter against 10-man Arsenal.

Although Meslier was not really tested a lot, when he was called into action, like against Saka, he did not disappoint.

Leeds played well against Arsenal, hit the frame of the goal as many as three times, and created chances, and will be disappointed that they could not bag maximum points.
