Reports in N’Jie’s native Cameroon have the Tottenham winger subject of a dig from Usain Bolt, but all is not what it seems.
Usain Bolt
Nine time Olympic champions Usain Bolt is toying with the idea of becoming a footballer, recently agreeing to train with German giants Borussia Dortmund.
The Jamaican sprint legend faces a long shot to actually earn a deal, but according to one report – he cited a Tottenham player as reason why he believes he had a chance.

The target of his supposed dig was Tottenham loanee Clinton N’Jie, who was packed off to Marseille this season after a disappointing 12 months in North London.
According to a newspaper in N’Jie’s home country of Cameroon, Bolt told the French media his view on the player, a potential role model.
He was quoted by Le Bled Parle stating: “Clinton N’Jie the proved it before me: you can run quickly to be a footballer even if you do nothing with the ball. So I have my chance.”

So why would Bolt take a random dig at former Lyon forward N’Jie?
Well the simple answer is he didn’t. The quote originated from the Twitter feed of French betting website Winamax; think a Gallic Paddy Power.
Unfortunately for N’Jie, the quotes were picked up and run in his homeland as fact; not the best look for him.
So while not a subject of derision for Usain Bolt, who may even have never heard of N’Jie, he is clearly a figure of fun for the French media after his disappointing start to the season.
In seven appearances for Marseille this season he has scored once and provided one assist, with his last performance graded 5.88/10 by whoscored.com.
