Tottenham Hotspur have lost a bit of momentum in recent weeks.

When Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester City in very impressive fashion three weeks ago, it looked like we had a new favourite for the title.

In all they had won seven straight games in all competitions, however since the international break Spurs have stumbled somewhat, drawing their last two Premier League games and once in the Champions League.

While their late equaliser against West Bromwich Albion last week showed a deal of resilience, against Bournemouth, while having plenty of possession they seemed to lack the cutting edge to unlock a resolute Cherries’ defence.

One positive for Spurs is that their defence still looks in very strong shape.

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen reacts

The combination of Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min, Erik Lamela, Dele Alli and Vincent Janssen conjured up few chances throughout the 90 minutes.

Janssen, the £17million summer signing from AZ Alkmaar, came of the bench and it was hoped he would be able to have a game changing impact. However the 22-year old clearly struggled to pick up the tempo of a frenetic affair and produced a ineffective display. The Dutchman is still waiting for his first Premier League goal after nine appearances.

Tottenham's Harry Kane

With star striker Harry Kane returning to the training pitch last week after suffering an ankle injury against Sunderland last month, there seems to be help on the horizon although he will take a week or two to get his touch back. For now it will be up to the players who are fit to get them back onto the winning track as drawing games can become a costly habit.

They need to regain that winning feeling against Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Tuesday and go from there.
