Darren Bent has raved about reported Arsenal target Said Benrahma on Twitter.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan and now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, believes that the Brentford attacker is good enough for the Premier League.
Bent made the comment about the 25-year-old Algeria international – who can operate as a winger or as a forward – while watching him in action for Championship side Brentford against Fulham in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening, with the match being shown live on Sky Sports Football.
The former Nice attacking player scored twice for the Bees in their 3-0 win against Premier League club Fulham, one of which was absolutely superb.
90min reported in August that Arsenal are interested in signing Benrahma in the summer transfer window, with Brentford looking for £25 million as transfer fee for the Algerian.
Stats
According to WhoScored, against Fulham on Thursday evening, Benrahma took three shots, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 44%, took 52 touches, attempted nine dribbles, made two tackles and one interception, and put in two crosses.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the attacker scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in the Championship, according to WhoScored.
Arsenal move possible?
The summer transfer window for clubs in England will not close until later this month, meaning that there is still enough time for Arsenal to sign the Algerian.
While the Gunners do have a very good attacking unit, a player of Benrahma’s quality and goalscoring prowess would make them even better.
