Leicester City have paid £30 million to sign Newcastle United

Newcastle are set to sell Perez and they have made a huge profit on the Spaniard, who has only shown his best form in patches at St. James’ Park.
Yet, for Newcastle to feel that £30 million was simply irresistible for the most proven attacker left in their squad rather sums up their ambition.
In the modern day market £30 million doesn’t actually buy you too much.
Brighton & Hove Albion want £40 million for Lewis Dunk (The Sun) – who is two years Perez’s senior. Burnley are demanding the same fee for James Tarkowski (Daily Mail).
Crystal Palace got £50 million for Aaron Wan-Bissaka (BBC Sport), who had one good season at Premier League level behind him, with Manchester United taking a chance on the right-back.
United may now pay £90 million for Harry Maguire (Telegraph).

Even looking at strikers, Bournemouth want £60 million for Callum Wilson (Daily Star), and he only scored two more league goals than Perez last term.
It is unquestionably a sellers market right now in the Premier League, and most clubs are demanding exorbitant sums before considering selling their key stars.
Newcastle, on the other hand, seem happy to accept the first decent offer that comes their way.
And the fact that the club believed Leicester’s bid for Perez was ‘too good to turn down’ is rather damning.
