Leeds United have still not found a replacement manager for Garry Monk.

Leeds United boss Garry Monk’s comments to the Daily Mirror suggest that the exits of Charlie Taylor and Kyle Bartley could have played a part in his resignation at Elland Road.
Monk stressed the importance of keeping hold of your side’s best players, if you are to be a success, in his first press conference as Middlesbrough boss.
And that is something which Leeds have failed to do in recent times.
Leeds have lost a number of key stars in recent years, and this summer has been no different.
The Whites failed to keep hold of Taylor, while a permanent deal for Bartley became very unlikely.

And the exits of Taylor and Bartley may have done little to convince Monk to stay at Elland Road.
He said: “It’s important that you keep your best players, and important you’re able to keep a core together and give yourself the best possible opportunity of reaching the club’s ambition, which is to go back to the Premier League.”

If Monk was to stay at Leeds, then there would have been some doubts over whether they could have kept their group together next season.
Bartley’s and Taylor’s departures were blows to their future plans, and they face a fight to keep hold of both Chris Wood and Pontus Jansson over the coming weeks
