Did Glasgow Rangers prove Michael O’Halloran right at Ibrox?

Rangers slipped eight points behind Premiership leaders Celtic at the weekend in a 2-0 defeat at Ibrox.
Second-half goals from Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths did the damage for Celtic on a day when Rangers not only struggled to match the Hoops’ quality, but also their intensity.

In short, Pedro Caixinha’s side did not look as fit as their Glasgow rivals and maybe, just maybe, Michael O’Halloran’s comments earlier in the month are more relevant now.
The 26-year-old striker, offloaded to St Johnstone on loan by Caixinha, criticised the Portuguese manager, telling The Scotsman that his training sessions “weren’t very demanding” and revealing that he had to do extra work to stay fit.

Rangers’ performance against Brendan Rodgers’s side only strengthened that claim by O’Halloran. Simply put, they did not look as fit in the final half-hour or so.
Given that Caixinha is on record as saying that O’Halloran would not play for him again, you could’ve easily dismissed the striker’s comments as mere sour grapes at the time, but the Gers’ performance at the weekend goes some way to proving him right.
