It’s been a good week for Arsenal players in terms of making World Cup squads.

Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have made the Brazil squad, Ben White looks like he’s going to be in the England group, while Granit Xhaka is going to captain Switzerland in Qatar.

While many Arsenal players have received great news this week, there’s one man who will be very disappointed.

Indeed, Gunners loanee Auston Trusty has missed out on the USA team, and it’s fair to say that he’s going to be disappointed after such a brilliant season with Birmingham City so far.

Trusty has earned rave reviews for his spell at St Andrew’s, and after learning this news, Birmingham City have sent him a heartfelt message.

The Blues are clearly gutted for the Arsenal loanee, and they’re absolutely right, he couldn’t have done much more to get himself into this team.

Trusty has been a rock at the back, while he’s also been effective going forward, netting three goals so far this season.

Unfortunately for Trusty, that left-footed centre-back role has been taken by Tim Ream who himself is enjoying an absolutely remarkable season with Fulham.

Ream has taken to Premier League football like a duck to water this time around, and he’s playing a massive part in the Whites’ charge into the top-half of the Premier League.

Sadly for Trusty, a Championship star is never going to be picked over a player who is proving himself week-in, week-out in the Premier League.

As Birmingham City say, Trusty couldn’t do much more to get himself into the squad, but sadly, his best hasn’t been good enough.
