Bristol City defender Aden Flint says he “dodged a bullet” not joining Birmingham – could he say the same about Leeds rumours?

Bristol City defender Aden Flint admitted that he “dodged a bullet” by not completing a proposed transfer to Birmingham City over the summer.
Robins manager Lee Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol in August that the club had rejected “two solo bids” from Birmingham for Flint and teammate Joe Bryan.

When asked on the same station whether he had “dodged a bullet” not making the move, the 28-year-old responded: “Well, I’m just back playing football and enjoying football, you know. It was a stressful time in the summer not knowing what was going off.
“Given the league position, you’d probably say ‘yes, you’ve dodged a bullet’ or whatever, but who knows what can happen in football.”

It’s easy to see why Flint would agree with this sentiment, with the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Barnsley in their last Championship outing seeing them drop into the relegation zone.
City, in contrast, beat rivals Cardiff City at the weekend to move up to fourth in a season in which the centre-back has played a crucial role both in defence and attack, scoring four goals including the winner against the Bluebirds.
However, did Flint also potentially dodge a bullet by not moving to another club rumoured to be interested in his services – Leeds United?
The Bristol Post reported over the summer that the Whites were interested, but with Leeds having lost six of their last seven league matches to drop to tenth and seven points off the Bristol outfit, Flint appears to be lucky nothing materialised.
