Aston Villa reportedly made an approach to sign Robert Snodgrass from West Ham United this summer.

Snodgrass has been given his chance back at West Ham this term, with Manuel Pellegrini impressed by the winger.
Villa did want to bring Snodgrass back to Villa Park this season, as reported by the Guardian.
But it seems that they never really had a chance of getting the 30-year-old from the moment that he was included in West Ham’s plans.
“That [play for West Ham] is all I’ve wanted to do wherever I’ve been,” Snodgrass admitted.
Even though Villa were unable to bring in Snodgrass this summer, they have still made some impressive additions to their attacking ranks.

Steve Bruce’s side have recently brought in both Anwar El-Ghazi and Yannick Bolasie on loan to strengthen their options down the wing.
Bolasie and El-Ghazi both look to have key roles to play, as Villa aim to go one better than last term and earn promotion.
Snodgrass, meanwhile, has played in all four of West Ham’s Premier League matches so far this season.
