Andrew Robertson has had to be patient for opportunities since joining Liverpool from Hull City in the summer but the left-back certainly seized his chance in yesterday’s Merseyside derby against Everton.

With Alberto Moreno unavailable due to injury, Robertson was thrown into action at Anfield and produced a composed display in the 1-1 draw.

Robertson was dependable defensively as he made some impressive interceptions, while he also provided a significant attacking threat as he frequently pushed forwards down the left flank.

Moreno could also miss Liverpool’s game at home to West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday and Robertson will hope for another opportunity to prove to manager Jurgen Klopp that he should be the club’s first-choice left-back.

Although he has produced some impressive displays at times this season, Moreno remains susceptible to leaving large amounts of space behind him, which can be exploited by the opposition.

Having been used sparingly up to his point, Robertson may now finally be given a chance to establish himself as an important part of Klopp’s side.
