Celtic continue their Champions League campaign with a huge trip to Bayern Munich tomorrow (October 18) and potentially have a great opportunity to get a positive result at the Allianz Arena.
The two clubs are level on points in their group having both lost to leaders Paris Saint-Germain already in 2017/18 and Bayern also trail Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga – a run of form that lead to Carlo Ancelotti being sacked as manager.

Club chairman Uli Hoeness was quoted by the Independent after the decision that “five players were against Ancelotti” and it appears there was great disharmony among the squad because of their former boss.
If the Bhoys could have played the German giants during the Italian’s tenure this campaign or in the immediate aftermath of his dismissal on September 28 when Willy Sagnol was interim then they could have had legitimate reason to believe they could draw, or even win, in Munich.
Unfortunately for the Glasgow outfit there has been three weeks since the decision was made and since then club legend Jupp Heynckes has been re-appointed as manager.

Henckes bowed out of coaching first time around in 2013 having won the treble of Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League with Bayern and his return has had an immediate impact on the Bavarians, who beat Freiburg 5-0 in his first game in charge.
The players looked settled and showed urgency against an opposition who are admittedly struggling and while there are still frailties for the 72-year-old to address, Celtic could have perhaps done with this change of management coming after their match in Germany.
