Wolverhampton Wanderers star Nouha Dicko has told the Express & Star that he is getting back to his best form and fitness following his injury absence.

The return of Dicko to the Wolves starting XI was met with widespread joy and adulation by fans. The forward is a vital part of the Midlands side’s squad and has been for a number of years now, dating back to his link-up play with ex-players Benik Afobe and Bakary Sako.

Dicko made his return in the club’s 2-1 loss to Norwich City before scoring twice in the Checkatrade Trophy clash with Crewe.

“I’m getting sharper and sharper,” he told the Express & Star. “I was pleased with how it went (at Crewe). This cup is good for the young ones and the first-team players who need some game time.

“I need some game time. I felt I still need some time to play and I was really looking forward to it because Saturday was good. I wanted to play well and to win and that’s what we did.”

Not only has Dicko’s return delighted supporters, but it has also reignited the belief among some that they can make a surge for the play-offs this season.

Whilst one player will not necessarily make all the difference, his infectious spirit and overall quality are certainly welcome at the club.

Dicko will be hoping to score his first league goal following his return when Wolves travel to face Aston Villa following the international break.
