Rangers are searching for a new manager after Pedro Caixinha’s exit.

Former Rangers boss Dick Advocaat has told The Scottish Sun that he would back Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes for the Ibrox job.
Rangers sacked manager Pedro Caixinha last month, bringing his seven-month reign at Ibrox to an end after a 1-1 home draw with Kilmarnock, in a game which summed up his tenure in Glasgow.
Whilst Graeme Murty has got off to a strong start as caretaker manager with two wins from two games, Rangers are very much searching for a new manager to take the club forward.
The main name mentioned ever since Caixinha’s exit has been Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes, and the Scot remains the bookmakers favourite to land the Ibrox job.
McInnes, 46, has won more than 58% of his games in charge of Aberdeen since taking the job in April 2013, and has finished second behind Celtic in each of the last three Scottish Premiership seasons.
A former Rangers midfielder, McInnes has been heavily tipped to make a return to Ibrox, and one of his former Gers managers has thrown his support behind the Aberdeen boss.
Netherlands boss Dick Advocaat managed McInnes at Rangers, and given that the Dutch are taking on Scotland at Pittodrie on Thursday night, it’s no surprise that Advocaat has been asked about the situation.
Advocaat, 70, has told The Scottish Sun that whilst it’s over 16 years since he was Rangers manager, he thinks McInnes has done ‘very well’ with Aberdeen, and believes he can be the right man for Rangers.
“It’s a long time since I was at Rangers, so it’s difficult for me to say definitely yes in terms of who should be the next manager,” said Advocaat. “But Derek’s done very well at Aberdeen. I hope and believe he has what it takes to be their manager. He’s the right age, so why not?” he added.
