Reported Leeds target Mohamed Diame has signed for Al Gharafa.

Former Newcastle midfielder Mohamed Diame landed a lucrative deal with Al Gharafa last week.
The Sun report Diame will earn £100,000 per week over two years in Qatar.
Diame’s high earnings show Championship side Leeds United never really stood a chance of winning the race for his signature.
Teamtalk had reported that Leeds were interested and aware of Diame’s availability after his release from Newcastle.
The Whites never got as far as putting a proposal to Diame, and his high wages showed any offer they did make would have been doomed.

Leeds’ highest earner nets less than half Diame’s new wage packet.
Diame would have been a solid addition in midfield for Leeds on a free transfer, but there are enough available options still around that they should not be too worried.
Providing the Whites can hold onto star midfielder Kalvin Phillips, midfield is a strength of Leeds, and they didn’t need to blow up their wage structure to add a 31-year-old.
