The Leeds United midfielder has fallen down the pecking order this season.
For whatever reason, it appears Leeds United midfielder Toumani Diagouraga is not rated by current Whites boss Garry Monk.
The midfielder was a regular under former manager Steve Evans, but his performance in the 3-0 defeat against Queens Park Rangers on the opening weekend of the campaign appears to have sealed his fate in the eyes of his new gaffer.
Since that capitulation, Diagouraga has been overlooked time and again, and it would be no surprise to see him move on in January.
However, if the former Brentford player wanted an opportunity to force his way back into Monk’s good books, the injury to Liam Bridcutt is a chance he should seize with both hands.
Leeds have a number of options in the centre of the park but while Eunan O’Kane has impressed since arriving at Elland Road, Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira are both still very young, with fans divided as to who should start and how effective they are when doing so.
Diagouraga should still have training to impress his manager and if he cannot look at Bridcutt’s injury as his last chance to get some more minutes at Leeds, there is no hope for him.
He may have already realised his time at Leeds is coming to an end, but if he wants to go down fighting it is time he saw that potential place in the side and fought tooth and nail for it.
