Aston Villa should consider making a loan move for the Rennes hitman before the end of the month.
According to a report from the Sun (print edition August 19th, page 60), Rennes hitman Diafra Sakho is looking for a quick return to England, having been made available on loan, and Steve Bruce should not hesitate to bring him to Aston Villa before the deadline at the end of this month.
Villans boss Bruce currently has somewhat of an injury crisis on his hands in the forward department, with Jonathan Kodjia being his only fit striker at present, so someone with Sakho’s quality and experienced would surely be very much welcomed at Villa Park.
The 28-year-old spent three-and-a-half years in England with West Ham, and proved that he is more than capable of succeeding in England.
Sakho left the Hammers for Rennes in January of this year, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £4.5 million, and he has gone on to score three goals for the French club.
He possesses pace in abundance, and has wonderful movement – two qualities that makes him the ideal striker partner for Kodjia.
Aston Villa are being heavily tipped to make a strong push for promotion this season, but their quest could be damaged by their lack of options up front, and Sakho would be the ideal tonic to that potential problem.
His reported availability on loan makes a move for him a no-brainer for Villa, and he could turn out to be a really inspired signing by Steve Bruce.
