Aston Villa are struggling in the Championship at the moment.
Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo has told The Birmingham Mail that he is not worried about losing his job.
Di Matteo, who was appointed the Villa manager in the summer, is struggling to get results for the team.
The Villans are 19th in the Championship table at the moment with just 10 points from 11 matches, only two points above the relegation zone.
Villa lost yet again this weekend, going down 2-0 to Preston North End away from home at Deepdale in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Di Matteo, though, is not worried about losing his managerial job at Villa Park, and has said that he has the total support of the board.
“No, I think it’s normal when the results of the team are not the one you expect that everybody will have questions,” Di Matteo told The Birmingham Mail when asked if he fears for his position. “I think this is part of our job.”
“Yes, we have total support from the club, absolutely,” said the Villa manager when asked if he has received any assurances from the board.
“There’s no other indication. We’ll have to try and be better after the international break and pick up more points than we have so far.”
Villa have a decent squad and should be getting better results, and they should at least be challenging for a place in the top six.
Given the results and the performances so far this season, there is a very good chance that the Villans could get relegated to League One at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
The Villans will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Villa Park in the Championship on Saturday evening.
