Could Tottenham Hotspur really lose two key players to Italy?

Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld celebrates scoring their first goal

Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has given an update following claims Inter Milan are interested in Tottenham Hotspur duo Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker.

The two defenders have been superb for Spurs this season and it is no surprise that other clubs are paying attention, but with Mauricio Pochettino’s side fighting for both the Premier League and the FA Cup this season, it remains to be seen why either would want to leave any time soon.

Di Marzio claims Alderweireld does not want to extend his contract at White Hart Lane – which expires in the summer of 2020 – and that Inter have already begun talks with the Belgian centre-back’s representatives about a possible move.

Only time will tell if either player leaves Tottenham in the near future, with the North London club holding all the cards given their habit of extending players’ contracts a long time in advance.

Alderweireld may not sign a new deal, but with three years remaining on his current one there is no need for Tottenham or their fans to panic just yet.
