Gianluca Di Marzio told Transfer Deadline Day on Sky Sports on Monday afternoon that Christian Eriksen is ‘not so happy’ at not moving in January after Tottenham and Leicester wanted to sign him.
TMW claimed during the winter transfer window that Eriksen could make a sensational return to Spurs, whilst those at the King Power were also seemingly keen to bring him back to the Premier League.
During the January transfer window of 2020, Eriksen made a £17 million switch to Inter [BBC Sport] to try and progress his career, from his perspective, but it hasn’t worked out like he would have wanted.
Italian journalist, Di Marzio brought the lowdown on the Eriksen affair and how he will be now focusing on trying to win over his fans at the San Siro.
On Eriksen not moving: “Not so happy, but in the last period he is playing more and in a different position,” said Di Marzio. “He’s playing like a centre in the middle.
“Inter refused to approach Tottenham and Leicester loan offers. Tottenham wanted him for a free loan. Leicester paid the loan but they didn’t find an agreement about his salary.
“So, there weren’t good opportunities for Inter Milan and for Eriksen, so he will stay here, and Antonio Conte will let him play more in the next period.”

In truth, the Eriksen situation could rear its ugly head once again in the summer because he isn’t exactly an established player under Antonio Conte.
The quick-footed playmaker is still trying to prove his worth and if he doesn’t cross that line then the transfer door might just open once again for him in the summer.
But the question remains then whether Spurs or even Brendan Rodgers would be keen to bring him back to England.
