The striker has headed to Rotherham United.
Dexter Blackstock (C) scores the third goal for Nottingham Forest
Rotherham United recently signed Dexter Blackstock on a free transfer following his release from Nottingham Forest.
Blackstock was released after agreeing to the mutual termination of his contract at the City Ground after the transfer window shut.
The Antigua and Barbuda international has not played for Forest this season and scored just four goals in 32 appearances for the club last season – but Rotherham needed a new striker and handed Blackstock a three-year deal.
He has now been speaking about why he decided to leave Forest. Blackstock told The Star:
“I had been at Forest for seven seasons. The club was great with me, the fans were great and I had great times there. But there just comes a time to leave.

“A new manager came in with different methods and I had to decide whether I wanted to be a bit-part player, which I have never been in my whole career, or come to a club and be more involved and it be more of a challenge.”
As Blackstock mentioned he had been at Forest for seven years and was one of their longest serving players.
But he has struggled with niggling injuries ever since a knee injury suffered against Cardiff City in November 2010.
Considering that Nottingham Forest also have Britt Assombalonga, Apostolos Vellios and now Nicklas Bendtner in the ranks the striker would have found first-team opportunities extremely hard to come by at the City Ground.
Forest fans will no doubt be wishing him all the best at the New York Stadium with The Millers.
