Liverpool linked teenager Jeremy Doku has caught the eye of Belgium manager Roberto Martinez, with the Anderlecht wonder-kid going from strength to strength in recent months (The Times).
The former Everton boss might have some of the most gifted attacking talent in world football at his disposal, from Kevin de Bruyne to Dries Mertens, Eden Hazard to little brother Thorgan, but that does not mean he isn’t keeping a close eye on the next generation too.
18-year-old Yari Verschaeren has already opened his account for the Belgian national team and it seems only a matter of time before fellow teen sensation Doku is rewarded with a maiden senior cap.
A speedy winger who has been compared to Sadio Mane by none other than Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, Doku is a regular for the Rote Duivels at U21 level and has shot to fame back home with three goals and three assists for Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht.
Martinez has been suitably impressed, telling The Times that the Antwerp-born flyer is “developing really, really well.”

Doku turned down the chance to join Liverpool two years ago as he felt his development would be better suited by remaining with Anderlecht (Nieuwsblad) but the reigning European champions are set to return for the youngster this summer.
Het Nieuwsblad reports that Doku, whose price-tag has soared to somewhere in the region of £17 million in recent months, still has no shortage of admirers at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp has already given us Trent Alexander-Arnold, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Robert Lewandowski, Mo Salah and more. Can he work his magic on Doku too?
