Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has told the club’s official website that he is enjoying playing with Cody Gakpo.

Nunez has noted that when Gakpo joined Liverpool in the January transfer window, things were not going well for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Uruguay international has said that the £120,000-a-week forward (Football Insider) and he are starting to form a good understanding with each other on the pitch.

Nunez said: “And Gakpo, he got here when we weren’t in the best form and he had to settle in as well.

“We needed to have time training together and now you can see that we’re developing a better understanding.

“I hope that keeps going in the same way and that those up front can bring lots of happiness to the fans because they deserve it.”

Potentially frightening

In our view, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez could be frightening in attack for Liverpool.

Salah is starting to get back to his best, Gakpo is scoring important goals and is looking very confident, while Nunez is working extremely hard.

We do not think that Nunez is exactly at his best in terms of scoring goals a the moment.

The striker needs to finesse that particular facet of his game.

However, Nunez is always trying his best and working hard for the team.

Just imagine how good and potent the Liverpool front-three of Salah, Gakpo and Nunez will be next season.

Liverpool are back in form.

The Reds hammered Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend.

Liverpool are very much in the running for the Premier League top four this season.
