Lee Ryder of The Chronicle has revealed on Twitter that Steve Bruce will be undertaking media duties at Newcastle United on Friday.
The 60-year-old could take charge of his 1,000th game in management on Sunday when Newcastle host Tottenham Hotspur.
That is, if he survives until then.
The Telegraph have been reporting all week that the Magpies are still expected to axe Bruce following Saudi Public Investment Fund’s £300 million takeover of the club last week.
But the fact that Ryder has tweeted that Bruce will be doing the pre-match press conference tomorrow has some Newcastle fans concerned.

Sensible
Even Bruce himself won’t be shocked if the axe falls before Sunday.
The Newcastle boss told The Daily Mail last week that he feared for his job in light of the takeover.
Problem is, United, who are 18th in the Premier League table, haven’t got a replacement lined up and sacking Bruce before then seems senseless.
It would delight the fans to see Bruce dismissed, but the supporters are already over the moon after seeing the back of Mike Ashley after his controversial 14-year reign as owner.
Newcastle’s hierarchy has to be sensible and really there is no sense in firing Bruce until they know who’s coming in.
