Chris Sutton has given his verdict on the goal that Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard scored in the first half against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The former Chelsea striker and BBC Sport pundit was impressed by the goal scored by Odegaard.

So, what has Chris Sutton said about Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Arsenal star Martin Odegaard vs Burnley

Well, Arsenal eased past Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s side scored the opening goal of the match after just four minutes. Martin Odegaard was the goalscorer.

The £30 million (Sky Sports) Norway international attacking midfielder found the back of the net with a crisp and accurate strike from outside the box.

Brazil international winger Gabriel Martinelli provided the assist. He looked up on the left and found Odegaard with a lovely ball.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton was following the match, and the BBC Sport pundit was hugely impressed by Odegaard’s goal.

Sutton said about Odegaard’s goal on BBC Radio 5 Live: “What a finish this is. It’s absolutely brilliant. Arsenal’s first real attack.

“Martinelli feeds it to Martin Odegaard and he takes one touch and hammers a left-footed shot into the corner. It was a really good first touch and it is a devastating finish.

“He pings the ball into the corner. It is the purest of strikes and Arsenal are off to a flyer again.”

My View: Important win for Arsenal

In my opinion, the win against Burnley at Turf Moor was hugely important for Arsenal. Yes, pundits expected the Gunners to pick up all three points from the match on Saturday afternoon, but, as we all know, there are no easy games at this level.

Liverpool eased past Brentford away from home in London in the Premier League earlier on Saturday.

So, the pressure was on Arsenal to keep up. And, Mikel Arteta’s side responded in style.

Arsenal are two points behind leaders Liverpool. The North London club have now won their last five Premier League games. Things are looking very positive for the Gunners at the moment.
