James Collins has voiced his concern for Kurt Zouma on BBC Radio 5 Live (4/12, 14:04) after David Moyes had to replace the West Ham United defender through injury against Chelsea.
Zouma made the switch from south-west to east London this summer to join the Irons from the Blues for £30m. He has since proven to offer a vital presence in the Hammers defence.
Moyes gave Zouma his 11th Premier League start in claret-and-blue as West Ham hosted his former Chelsea side on Saturday. He had played all but one of the Irons’ fixtures before this weekend, and had also lasted the full 90-minutes each time he stepped onto the field.

But an injury cut short Zouma’s afternoon against Thomas Tuchel’s Premier League table-topping team. The 27-year-old sustained an evident issue midway through the second-half of the London Stadium affair after pulling up holding his thigh without being challenged.
Zouma attempted to play on through the issue, but was clearly limping around the edge of West Ham’s area. Moyes opted against taking any risks by leaving the £120k-a-week titan on and worsening the problem, with Pablo Fornals introduced.
Moyes and West Ham will now wait anxiously for news on the severity of Zouma’s injury. The Irons return to Premier League action next Sunday at Burnley, after a Europa League clash with Dinamo Zagreb.

Collins voices concern for West Ham star Zouma after injury vs Chelsea
Former West Ham defender Collins voiced concern for Zouma immediately after his injury against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
“Huge blow for West Ham with Kurt Zouma coming off,” Collins said. “It didn’t look great, it could have been his calf, his hamstring. You could see in his face that he was absolutely devastated.”
Zouma facing a prolonged period on the sidelines after sustaining an injury against Chelsea will be devastating for Moyes and West Ham.
The Irons are already without Angelo Ogbonna for the rest of the season after he sustained a cruciate ligament injury. The blow had already forced Moyes to plot January transfers.
