Watford hat-trick hero Gerard Deulofeu took to Twitter after his standout performance in Friday night’s Premier League 5-1 triumph over Cardiff City.

The Hornets were rampant at the Cardiff City Stadium, opening the scoring after just 18 minutes through the Spaniard, who finished off Troy Deeney’s bustling run and delivery.

There would be a long wait until the second, just after the hour, and Deulofeu netted once again, beating Neil Etheridge with a composed finish.

Deeney made it four with a simple tap-in midway through the second half before Sol Bamba scored a consolation eight minutes later.

In added time, however, the Watford captain had the final say as he netted Watford’s fifth to wrap up the emphatic victory for Javi Gracia’s charges, who have leapfrogged Wolves into seventh for the time being at least.
