Joleon Lescott told the Weekend Preview that Michail Antonio will ‘destroy Leeds when they take on West Ham on Monday night.
The Hammers will entertain Marcelo Bielsa’s all-action Leeds side tomorrow for a potentially mouthwatering fixture.
Those in the capital are chasing Champions League football, whilst the Yorkshire giants know they are safe so they are hoping to continue causing havoc in the Premier League.
But Leeds will face a stiff test against one of the top marksmen in the league, as Sky pundit Lescott warned the Whites as to why Antonio might enjoy himself against them.
“This game suits West Ham,” said Lescott. “I think the spaces that Leeds leave at the back and Antonio one v one.
“He will isolate someone and destroy them.”
It’s going to be some battle between two of England’s rising strikers – Antonio and Patrick Bamford.
Both have reached the top-flight on different paths, but they might be taking the same one for the Euros in the summer.
Former Chelsea youth product, Bamford, may feel he has the better chance of earning that Three Lions call.
But West Ham’s £7 million (Sky Sports) will be hoping his name doesn’t go amiss when Gareth Southgate is piling together the long-list of attackers he has the joy to choose from.
