Newcastle United supporters must need to pinch themselves these days.
On Saturday, Newcastle confirmed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes in what is a huge statement intent by the club.
Remember, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were interested in the Brazil international.
So for the Tyneside outfit to be competing with outfits like this – and actually beating them to major signings – is massive.
However, the best and most wholesome part of what’s happening at Newcastle is the harmony at the highest levels.
For years there was fury and vitriol directed toward former owner Mike Ashley, who will most probably never be welcome back into the city.
But these days things are peaceful and Newcastle supporters will absolutely love the banter between Jamie Reuben and co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi on Saturday.
Saudi Public Investment Fund own 80 percent of the Magpies but the remaining shares are divided between the Rueben brothers and Amanda Staveley and Ghodoussi.
Ghodoussi, who is married to Amanda Staveley, offered to a sign a custom t-shirt with his face on it for a local foodbank.

It’s only a joke and one of tiny significance but, broadly speaking, it does paint a picture of pure harmony at Newcastle.
And given where United were as recently as October, well it’s apples and oranges in the North East.
Eddie Howe’s side remain in the relegation zone in the Premier League, 18th in the standings, but off the pitch there is clearly extremely positive energy and that can only be a good thing for on-the-field matters going forward.
