Brennan Johnson has been praised by Destiny Udogie after Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday.
Tottenham headed to Villa knowing that a victory would be enormous in their push for Champions League qualification.
Having kept Villa at bay in the first half, James Maddison and Brennan Johnson fired Tottenham 2-0 up after the break.
John McGinn left Villa in the lurch with a red card and Tottenham really killed the game off with Son Heung-min hammering home number three.
Substitute Timo Werner even found time to get on the scoresheet too, wrapping up a thumping victory for Spurs.
Brennan Johnson celebrates
Winger Johnson started on the left flank and took his chance, finishing beyond Emiliano Martinez from Son’s pass.
The Welshman is really making an impact at the moment, bagging three goals and three assists in his last eight Premier League appearances.
Tottenham invested decent money in Johnson last summer and he now seems to be taking his game to a new level.
Johnson took to Instagram after the game to celebrate a win, a goal and a happy Mother’s Day, posting a photo of his celebration and one of hims as kid with his mother.
Tottenham players were unsurprisingly in the comments with Ryan Sessegnon stating ‘bronem’ and Emerson Royal saying ‘my boy’.
It’s clear that Spurs fans appear to love Johnson and left back Destiny Udogie simply stated ‘baller G’, seemingly impressed with his display at Villa Park.
Dane Scarlett, Brandon Austin and Spurs fan AJ Tracey offered their support for Johnson too, having seen him play a key role in Sunday’s win.
Johnson will now be looking to make that left-wing spot his own and Sunday was further proof os his growing influence in this Tottenham side.
Champions League football is up for grabs and we may well see a few more Johnson goals this season – and maybe some more praise from Udogie down the line.
