Birmingham City were thrashed 5-0 by Brentford on Tuesday night.

Leeds United are still searching for their first win under new manager Paul Heckingbottom, and whilst he is still assessing his squad at Elland Road having only been appointed earlier this month, he may well be eyeing up summer reinforcements.
Leeds fans may want a number of positions to be strengthened, but Heckingbottom’s priority may be to sort out his goalkeeping situation, which has been a problem throughout the campaign.
Felix Wiedwald, a summer signing from Werder Bremen, has been error-prone and lacking in confidence, with mistakes on show in recent games against QPR, Bristol City and even Derby County on Wednesday night.

Backup Andy Lonergan is little more than cover at this stage in his career, and if Leeds are to become promotion contenders under Heckingbottom next season, then a new first-choice goalkeeper – preferably with Championship experience – must be targeted.
One option that Leeds fans have been calling for this season – and even as far back as last summer – is Birmingham City’s David Stockdale, who is a popular suggestion in part because he was born in Leeds grew up supporting the Whites.
The 32-year-old is currently a part of the struggling Birmingham City side are hovering just one point above the Championship relegation zone, and he even contributed to the Blues’ demise in their 5-0 defeat at Brentford on Tuesday.

Stockdale showed surprisingly poor handling for Ollie Watkins’ opener, and then made a bizarre gaffe to fumble the ball on the edge of his box, handing the ball to Watkins, who teed up Neal Maupay to fire into an empty net.
Stockdale’s errors on Tuesday night are not, unlike Wiedwald, indicative of his all-round goalkeeping ability, and he was a key member of the Brighton and Hove Albion side which won promotion to the Premier League last season.
Given his affinity with Leeds and his proven track record in the Championship, Stockdale should still be on Heckingbottom’s radar for this summer despite his errors on Tuesday – and raiding Birmingham to hand him a dream move to Elland Road this summer would certainly be popular with fans, who regularly take to Twitter to call for his signature.
