The midfielder posted impressive stats in the draw with Middlesbrough.

West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang was in fine form this weekend as his side drew with Middlesbrough, reports the club’s official website.
The Hammers hosted Aitor Karanka’s side at the London Stadium on Saturday looking to end their current poor run of form.
Things did not go quite to plan, though, as they required a superb solo goal from Dimitri Payet to secure a point from the game.
It was another moment of magic from the Frenchman as he dribbled past numerous Boro players before finishing in the bottom corner.

His name was the one that took the headlines as comparisons to Lionel Messi were made, but the club’s official website reports it was another man who deserved the plaudits; Pedro Obiang.
He managed 60 touches in the game, second behind Payet, with all of them proving to be successful.
His defensive showing was solid as he managed three won tackles, four interceptions, three clearances and two blocks.

He also managed an impressive total of eight ball recoveries throughout the game.
His passing was his best attribute as he posted 36 passes, 33 of which were accurate, and enjoyed an overall pass success rate of 78%.
It was Obiang’s first Hammers start since April but with this kind of evidence it would not be surprising to see him become a regular in the coming weeks.
