Tottenham’s Son Heung-min has been handed another award.

The Asian Football Confederation have confirmed on their official website that Tottenham Hotspur ace Son Heung-min has been named the AFC Asian International Player of the Year for 2017.
Son, 25, was seemingly on the Tottenham chopping block after scoring just eight times in 40 games during his first season with the club, but he roared back last season.
The South Korean international hit 21 goals in all competitions last season, playing an important role as a fourth attacking option behind Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

This season, Son has started just seven league games for Spurs, but with four goals in all competitions, he is continuing to chip in with goals when Mauricio Pochettino calls on him.
Today, The Asian Football Confederation have confirmed on their official website that Son has been handed the AFC Asian International Player of the Year award for 2017, which is his second time winning the award.
Son claimed the honour in 2015, beating out Ki Sung-yueng and Massimo Luongo, and after coming second to Shinji Okazaki of Leicester City and Japan last year, Son is back on top this year.

Whilst Son is revered in Asia, there are often questions asked over whether Spurs truly appreciate what they have in Son; a hard-working player who can fill a number of attacking roles and chip in with goals and assists.
Yet with Alli, Eriksen and Kane all firmly entrenched under Pochettino, and the Spurs boss preferring a three-man defence, Son may have to accept being a bit-part player for Tottenham, yet a superstar in Asia.
