Tottenham Hotspur were unable to beat a dogged Bournemouth side at the weekend and have since slipped out of the Premier League top four.
That slide into fifth place came as a result of Chelsea’s big win on Sunday against Manchester United.

The two teams are level on points (19), with the Blues now having a better goal difference (+10) than Tottenham’s (+9).
Yet Tottenham can boast they are the only team in the Premier League this season not to have lost a single game in the division as we head into late October.
This same scenario (5th place) will be useless to them at the end of the season in their bid to qualify for the Champions League again, but right now they should take heart from the feat, as they look to build over the rest of the campaign.

German sides Hoffenheim and Red Bull Leipzig are also undefeated, along with French surprise package Nice.
Tottenham may be in fifth position in the Premier League, but they are just one point behind leaders Manchester City.
It is quite right they rue their inability to close out a win away to Bournemouth, as if they had, they would be sitting at the top of the table right now. They remain in the hunt, and are in a great position to take advantage of further slip ups from teams in front of them.
