Rangers flop was strangely called into Northern Ireland’s international squad despite a poor season at Ibrox.

Rangers defender Lee Hodson was a bizarre inclusion in Northern Ireland’s recent international squad.
The right-back was named by Michael O’Neill in the squad for their upcoming friendlies, despite a woeful season at Ibrox.
Hodson has struggled to displace James Tavernier and started just one game for Rangers in 2018, and that was the cup game with non-league Fraserburgh.
His only other game this year came in the last 22 minutes against Hibernian on the last day of the season, a game Rangers drew 5-5.

The season Hodson has just had does not merit an international selection, even if these games are just friendlies.
Hodson would be kidding himself if he feels he can stay put and retain his international place for much longer.
Last summer he was linked with an exit from Rangers to Charlton Athletic [via The Scottish Sun] but a move did not materialise.
A report in The Scotsman last week claimed Hodson was one of the players Rangers are looking to move on this summer.
He may be tempted to stay in case James Tavernier leaves, but really it should be time for him to cut his losses.
