Alan Shearer doesn’t think West Brom should sack Tony Pulis just yet despite losing 4-0 at home to Chelsea.
Eden Hazard (3rd L) of Chelsea celebrates scoring his side’s fourth goal with his teammates during the Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
Alan Shearer doesn’t think West Bromwich Albion should sack manager Tony Pulis despite a 4-0 home defeat to Chelsea in their latest Premier League outing.
The Baggies have not won in the English top flight since August 19 and are just one point outside the relegation zone with West Ham United below them having a game in hand.
In their last 21 matches West Brom have only been victorious on two occasions, but Shearer thinks Pulis’ record of keeping teams up should buy him more time.

“I wouldn’t fire him,” the former Newcastle United captain said as a pundit on Match Of The Day. “He’s never been relegated. In three years they’ve been 13th, 14th and tenth.
“Probably if there was a club struggling and he was out of a job they’d probably turn to him to keep them in the Premier League.
“They’re three points off 12th position so I would give him a few more games. He’s very good at keeping teams up. He’s never been relegated. That’s the reason I wouldn’t get rid of him just yet.”

Pulis’ side were outclassed at the Hawthorns by the reigning champions, with an Eden Hazard brace and Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso strikes sealing an emphatic three points for the Blues.
Pressure is mounting on the Welshman, who admitted to the Birmingham Mail that the club’s owners “have to make a decision” on whether he continues as boss or not.
